EXTRACT from the "Japan Meekly Mail" of the 9th. January, 1915.

There is no British newspaper published in Peking now, the Germans having recently bought up the "Peking Gazette".' The nearest British organs are those published at Tientsin. In addition, the Germans are taking over the financial control of the entire native Press in Peking, and the Germans also have a controlling financial interest in three important native organs in Tientsin.
